As mothers to young families and professionals in healthcare, we understand the importance of being prepared for emergencies.
Through our shared passion for educating and empowering individuals, we created Impulse First Aid.

Mia from Impulse First Aid

Mia

Mia believes that everyone should have the knowledge and skills to save a life. She has seen firsthand the difference that first aid can make in an emergency, and she is passionate about empowering people with the skills they need to help others. She believes that Impulse First Aid can truly make a difference by providing quality first aid training that is fun, efficient, and memorable.
With extensive industry experience in health care, Mia has worked as an Advanced Life Support Paramedic for Ambulance Victoria, in both Metropolitan Melbourne and Rural Victoria. She also has a nursing background having worked in a variety of settings including Secondary Schools, Aged Care and Maternity Hospitals.

Qualifications:

As a mother to two young girls Katerina is passionate about making CPR and first aid courses readily available to everyone especially new parents and caregivers. She believes that these skills can make a real difference in an emergency, especially before help arrives.
Her extensive industry experience in pharmaceutical sciences and complementary medicine, has always been focused on saving patients lives and making people healthier and happier. She is dedicated to continuing that legacy with her co-founder and dear friend Mia through Impulse First Aid.

Notification of cancellation, withdrawal or deferral from unit/s of competency or a course of study must be made in writing to Impulse First Aid via email to hello@limpulsefirstaid.com.au

- Students who give notice to cancel their enrolment more than 10 days before the start of their course will be entitled to a full refund of fees paid.
- Students who cancel their enrolment less than 10 days, but more than 24 hours before the start of their course are entitled to a 75 percent refund of fees paid. The amount retained (25%) by Impulse First Aid Pty Ltd is required to cover the cost of staff and resources which will have already been committed based on the student’s initial intention to undertake the training.
- Students who cancel their enrolment less than 24 hours before their course start time, or after the start of their course will not be entitled to a refund of fees.
- Students who are late or miss the start of their course will not be entitled to a refund of fees.
- Students who cancel within 24 hours of making their payment (cool-off period) are entitled to a full refund of fees paid as long as more than 24 hours notice to the start of their course is given. If payment is made less than 24 hrs before the start of the course, students will not be entitled to a refund of fees.

- Students who give notice to reschedule their enrolment more than 24 hours before the start of their course will incur no additional fees.
- Students who give notice to reschedule their enrolment less than 24 hours prior, or after the start of their course will incur a 50% rescheduling and administration fee based on their course fees.
- Where it has been identified that there is a legitimate reason, there will be no charge for a student to transfer to another course if the student provides evidence. An example of a legitimate reason includes sudden acute illness with a medical certificate as evidence.

If Impulse First Aid Pty Ltd cancels a course, then a full refund will be made available to whoever paid the course fee.
Please note that a $5 booking and administration fees is applied for the processing of refunds.
Where refunds are approved, the refund payment must be paid to the student within 14 days from the time the student gave written notice to cancel their enrolment.

1. Impulse First Aid Pty Ltd is a registered business ABN 77 666 699 949. We deliver training and assessment in partnership with Allens Training (RTO #90909).
2. Allens Training Pty Ltd is registered with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 90909) to deliver vocational education and training services across all States and Territories of Australia.
3. Nationally recognised certificates are issued by Allens Training, on behalf of Impulse First Aid Pty Ltd.
4. We offer education, information and training (Information) to improve first aid outcomes for families and businesses. You must not use any Information to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or illness, or as a substitute for specific advice from a health professional.
5. Our Information is provided to increase your first aid knowledge and awareness to assist you to make decisions about how you respond in situations requiring first aid. We cannot guarantee any particular outcomes.
6. We offer general information about common first aid scenarios, based on our experience and training, but without any guarantee of accuracy or completeness. This is because we cannot tailor our advice to every individual's medical history, background, and circumstances. In reality, you will face a wide variety of first aid situations, each with its own unique challenges. We cannot possibly cover every scenario, so it is important to use your judgment and seek professional medical advice when needed.
7. It is your responsibility at all times to ensure a safe and appropriate response to your child. There is no one size fits all approach. You are responsible for exercising your own judgement in each individual circumstance.
8. There are occasions where your child may not respond to any of the methods we educate you about for various reasons including underlying medical issues. First aid information should be your first line of response only and implemented in conjunction with advice from your GP and where relevant, emergency services such as calling 000, arranging an ambulance or taking your child to an emergency room.

9. Our workshops are delivered on the basis of evidence based practice current at time of publication/delivery.
10. All workshops are provided on set topics and general information is provided which may not be suitable in a specific situation. If you require specific advice, we encourage you to see your GP or other chosen medical professional.
11. The training offered by Impulse First Aid Pty Ltd is designed to provide participants with paediatric first aid knowledge and skills. Training does NOT constitute a medical qualification. Impulse First Aid Pty Ltd accepts no responsibility for the subsequent actions of any individuals who complete this course of study. First aid training involves moderate physical activity, including demonstrating CPR on the floor. Impulse First Aid Pty does not accept any responsibility for any harm suffered as a result of participating in the training provided.

12. Payment is required upfront at the time that you book in with us. Your booking will not be confirmed until payment is received.
13. If for any reason we provide a service to you and you do not pay your invoice on time, unfortunately we will be required to pass on interest at 10% annually plus associated legal fees and/or debt collector fees.

14. We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform our obligations if such delay is due to any circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
15. We (Impulse First Aid Pty Ltd, our directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, suppliers, service providers, and licensors) are not liable for any injuries, losses, or damages that may arise from your use of our website, our information, or our products, including but not limited to: lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, any other similar damages. This includes claims based on contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory. Even if we are aware of the possibility of these injuries, losses, or damages, we are not liable for them.
16. First aid is an area subject to continuing research, clinical experience, reasonable differences in opinions among authorities, unique aspects of individual situations and the possibility of human error in preparing information.
17. We make no representation or warranty (express or implied) as to the currency, completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, fitness for purpose, non-infringement of third party rights and / or availability of any items, products, services, information or Sites, or that the items, products, services information or Sites will meet expectations or any person’s health or medical requirements.
18. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless in respect of any third party claims arising as a result of your breach of these terms and conditions or your breach of any law or the rights of a third party.
19. We may assign our rights under these Terms and will provide you notice if we do so.
20. We may vary these Terms and they will apply to any booking after the varied Terms are published on our website. It is your responsibility to check for updates.
21. These Terms form the whole agreement between us and may not be varied orally.
22. The laws of Victoria, Australia apply to these Terms.
23. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or unlawful, it is to be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in force.

24. Our Sites and every part of them is copyright. Reproduction of any part of our Sites is prohibited including images, posts, blogs, product descriptions, copy and wording. Permission must be gained before reproducing or reproducing anything on our Sites.
25. Our Sites are provided “as is” and “as available” without any guarantees as to its ongoing availability whether in part or in full.
26. We reserve the right at any time to modify or discontinue any product or service (or any part or content) without notice at any time.
27. We reserve the right to limit the sales of our products or services to any person, geographic region or jurisdiction. We reserve the right to limit the quantities of any products or services that we offer.
